We also got Blackberry Cabernet Sorbet! (wine is also an anti-oxidant), and blackberries & grapes are fruits! Plus, it’s a sorbet, so it’s mostly water/ice, right? I call that health food! Lol! It was very refreshing & zingy from the fruitiness, but you can definitely taste the wine! I was surprised! They should serve this in a wine glass! But it was not overly sweet, so it was nice. So, I consider this a serving of fruit. Decided I needed to do more health food, so had me some nuts and fruits made into a cake with chocolate (that’s an anti-oxidant, ya know!). It’s called Chocolate Panforte - a dense cake that is made with dried fruits, like figs or cherries, cranberries, and hazelnuts & chocolate. Kind of like a chocolate fruit cake, but not any cake, and a lot better! It’s chewy like a fruit bar! I love this kind of thing! needed a latte to wash it down! But here’s the star of the show - the Cioppino! A lot of places make it in San Francisco - and it is claimed that Cioppino originated in San Francisco, so it’s an Italian American creation! The fisherman would get together for a meal and make a seafood stew for which they asked each person to “Chip in”! Or at least, that’s how the story goes! But this Cioppino is the absolute best, hands down! They have a lot of seafood - crab in the shell, mussels, clams, prawns, bay shrimp, bay scallops & fish! AND they also have penne pasta in the bottom! The sauce is a rich tomato sauce (a marinara), that is seasoned so nicely and just really compliments the seafood perfectly! We just practically drink the sauce like soup, or sop it up with bread, because it’s so good & we don’t want to leave a drop! Lol! If you haven’t tried it, you should! But make reservations, or get down there early, because there will be a line and a wait! My lunch today was a simple homemade creamy linguini with chicken & peas, and some yummy pain poilâne with walnuts (a country sourdough bread) - this is my favorite bread ever! Hearty, chewy, dense, good sourdough! So delicious! I had this for the first time when I lived in Paris! And I’ve been in love ever since!
